Iniciámos o dia com uma visita cultural ao Palácio de Topkapi, junto à magnífica Hagia Sophia, mergulhando na história e na riqueza cultural deste lugar único. Seguimos depois até Balat, conhecido pelas suas ruas de casas coloridas, cheias de vida e autenticidade, e visitámos também a Catedral de São Jorge, sede do Patriarcado Ecuménico de Constantinopla.

Ao almoço, experimentámos um clássico da cidade: peixe no pão, preparado na hora nos tradicionais barcos — uma experiência genuína e deliciosa.

Durante a tarde, regressámos à escola para celebrar o Dia da Soberania Nacional e da Criança, um feriado nacional vivido com enorme entusiasmo, que une tradição e alegria das crianças. Terminámos o dia com uma cerimónia especial junto ao Bósforo, onde fomos presenteados com lembranças oferecidas pelos pais dos alunos, como lenços e outros trabalhos manuais, cheios de significado e carinho.

Foi a despedida desta escola tão acolhedora. Partimos com o coração cheio e com a vontade de, em breve, retribuir tão extraordinária hospitalidade.

We began the day with a cultural visit to Topkapi Palace, next to the magnificent Hagia Sophia, immersing ourselves in the history and cultural richness of this unique place. We then headed to Balat, known for its colorful houses, full of life and authenticity, and also visited St. George's Cathedral, the seat of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.

For lunch, we enjoyed a local classic: fish sandwiches prepared fresh on the traditional boats — an authentic and delicious experience.

In the afternoon, we returned to the school to celebrate National Sovereignty and Children's Day, a national holiday full of joy, celebrating both tradition and children. We ended the day with a special ceremony by the Bosphorus, where we were given thoughtful gifts by the students’ parents, such as scarves and handmade items, full of meaning and care.

It was our farewell to this incredibly welcoming school. We leave with full hearts and hope to soon return the outstanding hospitality we received.
